Trip to San Angelo

Caroline and I had a great time visiting Angela, Caroline, Nick and Kate. It meant a lot for Caroline and Kate to finally meet since they were born the same week! It seems like yesterday Angela and I were sharing the news with each other that we were both expecting. We also loved seeing Ron and Kathy. It's so nice to know that we have people that care about us out here in Texas! During our visit, we took the kids to the pool and the babies were both sleeping angels in the shade. Angela and I are so excited that we will get to see each other every summer during their annual trip. It's hard to believe that next summer Carolineand Kate will be chasing after the big kids!

Back in Austin!

Caroline, Alex and I flew back to Texas yesterday morning. It was hard to leave Grandpa and Nona, but it is great to be home. We had an uneventful flight (thank goodness), but getting up at 4:30 AM yesterday is still wearing on us all. Caroline decided to wake up again today at 4 AM! It will nice to get back to our usual routine....that is until we drive out to San Angelo tomorrow to visit the Droll's and Palumbo's for a couple days. On to the next adventure!

Wedding and Baptism Recap

Caroline was an angel for the wedding and the baptism! We arrived at the church for pictures at 3 PM and the wedding was at 6:30PM. Needless to say, we were nervous about keeping her happy for that long. Uncle George was our lifesaver when he found a rocker. She stayed asleep until right before the wedding in Nona's lap. She came down the aisle smiling and went back up the aisle asleep. She even had a great time at the reception! The photographers took a ton of pictures of her and I will post the link on the blog. Catherine was a beautiful bride and we know that she and Wesley are having a wonderful time right now in St. Martin.

After partying until midnight the night before, it was a lot of work getting ready for an 8:30 AM lakeside church service. It was worth the early alarm to have her baptised outside on the shores of Lake Lanier. Dr. Terry Walton, who married Alex and I, baptised Caroline. She had been asleep in Alex's lap until he handed her to Terry. I was sure she would wake up crying, but she simply opened her eyes and looked around. It was perfect!
Following the baptism, my mom hosted a wonderful brunch for the family. It was a great way to end a celebratory weekend.

Uncle Paul and Pre-Wedding Festivities

Uncle Paul flew in from Breckenridge, CO Tuesday. He and Caroline have been bonding all week. He was afraid to hold her at first, but now he's a pro!

Yesterday, Caroline and I attended the bridesmaid luncheon. She slept the first half of the party thanks to Cousin Ally. She rocked her in her vibrating chair and kept her quite happy. Oma (my Nana) was very proud of her great-granddaughter.

After the luncheon, we spent time with the Dyer's around their pool. It meant so much for Caroline to meet my oldest friend (since I was 5 years old) Jennifer Dyer Buddin.

Grandpa has been fixing up Caroline's wedding wagon this week. We have also been letting her practice riding in the wagon around the house. So far, she loves it and she did great during the rehearsal yesterday. We'll see how things go this evening!

Playdate with Dylan

Caroline had her first playdate today with Dylan Moore. Dylan and her mom, Kristen, drove over from Atlanta. It was so wonderful to finally meet Miss Dylan!

Sunset on the Cove

For those of you that have been to my parents home on "the cove", you know how my dad loves sunsets and music. Last night's sunset was especially beautiful watching Grandpa and Caroline dance.

New Friends for Caroline!

These are pictures of my friend Katie and her son Jack. Jack and Caroline were due the same week, but he was two weeks early and she was 10 days late! I love the picture of them wide awake and two seconds later they're both sound asleep. They seem to be on the same page all together because they both rolled over on the same day and Katie's husband Steven and Alex both felt them kick on Christmas Eve.

Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day today in Gainesville with Grandpa because Alex is working in Wichita Falls, Texas. Caroline attended lakeside service at Gainesville First United Methodist this morning. After church, we spent the afternoon playing and Caroline rolled over for the first time! We were so proud. We can't wait for Daddy to see her new tricks on Thursday!

Yesterday, we spent the day with Kellye, JD and Jackson up at the Rabb riverhouse. Jackson and Caroline had a great time getting to know each other. Jackson was very sweet and gave her kisses and pats on the head. Caroline was very impressed with his new crawling moves!

First trip to GEORGIA!

Caroline and I flew into Georgia Wednesday for Aunt Cat Cat's wedding and Caroline's baptism. We had quite the adventure on the flight. Our first leg of the trip to Memphis was perfect. We sat beside the nicest Nun from Jamaica. She was a tremendous help. We thought we were going to have another great flight when we left the gate on time! Unfortunately, the plane stopped on the runway for two and a half hours because of a thunderstorm in Atlanta. Caroline was an angel! She ate and slept the entire time and several people on the plane commented on how much they enjoyed flying with such a wonderful baby. So far, she has met several members of the family and some of my oldest and dearest friends. We had such a great time at George and Carolyn's last night helping with wedding programs, welcome bags and bubbles. The Brinson's were as loud and crazy as ever and Caroline hardly blinked an eye. They all agreed that she's a "keeper." I think Caroline will be barking like a bulldawg by the end of the trip!

She's talking!

I thought you might like to hear what Caroline has to say these days!

Meeting New Family

Caroline got to meet her Grandad, Aunt Allison and Cousin Alex this weekend! We had so much fun hanging out at the pool and eatting lots of Mexican food. It was wonderful to see everyone and we can't wait to see them again. We also got to spend some more time with Nana this weekend. She bought Caroline some cool new shades. Caroline took a long nap in Nana's lap at the pool and Alex and I got to play with little Alex. It's so wonderful to have family come visit =)

Doss Elementary Graduation

Caroline and I attended the 1st grade graduation at Doss Elementary today. I was so happy to see all of my former students from student teaching. They have grown so much over the past year! This is a picture of Caroline and Patricia, my cooperative teacher. It has been such an amazing year and Patricia has been a huge part of it. I can't thank her enough for such a wonderful student teaching experience.
More news about my job at Casis...I found out that I will be teaching 4th grade in the fall! I can't wait to start setting up my room!!

First Bottle with Daddy

Alex gave Caroline a bottle for the first time this weekend. Hopefully, he'll start helping with some of the night feedings....we'll see =)
