Nona and Grandpa's Visit

Nona and Grandpa (Caroline calls him Bah Pa much to his dismay) came into town last week for a visit. We had a great time playing in the yard, swimming at the pool, and going to "kid" events in Austin. We took Caroline to children's day at Symphony park. They gave out free balloons and Popsicles, her two favorite things, which made Caroline's day. This is a picture at the BBQ restaurant, County Line. Great food and wonderful view. Nona and Grandpa were also able to come to one of C's gymnastic classes at The Little Gym. She loves the balance beam and bubbles! We can't wait until Nona and Grandpa's next visit to Austin.

Corpus Christi

Caroline and I joined Alex on a work trip to Corpus Christi. We stayed on the beach and had a great time playing while Daddy had to work. Caroline met everyone on the beach and danced with the band playing on the boardwalk. It was a wonderful quick trip to the ocean.

New Braunfels with Nana and Pa

Nana and Pa came to visit a few Saturdays ago. They took us to dinner at The Gristmill in New Braunsfels. Everyone tubes the Guadalupe River in the summer and then has dinner at this restaurant so...we had to wait for an hour and 45 minutes. It was worth it because Caroline loved meeting people and dancing with the band. After dinner, she tried to bust into Gruene Hall and to dance some more. She is a dancing queen!

Summer Days!

I have a new found respect for stay at home moms! It is hard work finding things to do every day. Caroline and I have visited The Natural Gardener a few times this summer. She loves going to see the chickens and roosters. She calls the rooster "doodle do" and the chickens "bach bach." We can't wait until it cools down this fall so we can actually get excited about buying plants instead of just visiting the "EIEIO's" (animals).
Caroline also had a lot of fun at Zilker Park, home of the famous Barton Springs. We played on the playground, watched a puppet show, and rode the train!
We are SO lucky to have the Austin (DELL) Children's Museum across the street from Alex's building downtown. They have so many wonderful hands on exhibits, experiments, craft tables, etc. We are going to love visiting the museum for years to come. This is a picture of Caroline "exploring" the toddler section.
A couple of Fridays ago we had dinner at one of our favorite places for tacos and sangria, El Chilito. Caroline ate a whole bowl of guacamole and loved every sticky minute of a strawberry popsicle. Her white dress was completely pink down the front (I managed to get it clean). It was a great night!
