Alex, Caroline and I drove over to Hunting Island to meet Nona and Grandpa a week ago Saturday. We had the PERFECT house right on the beach. It was as if we were the only people on a deserted island. We even had a sunset view over the lagoon behind the house. The minute we arrived, Caroline ran down to the water and started playing in the surf. She never left the island all week and loved every minute of her stay. She was up early every morning to watch the sun come up out of the ocean while rocking on the screen porch with Nona. We spent our days jumping waves, playing in the tidal pools and having impromptu dance parties on the porch. We had dinner by candle light every night (after Caroline was asleep =) on the porch listening to the waves crash. Family and friends came to visit throughout the week. Allison and family drove up Sunday, Mac and Cristie (friends from Savannah) came to see us Tuesday, and Paul, Lindsey, Carol, Rick, Anna and Ally were there Thursday on the way to Hilton Head. In addition to our family and friend visitors, a couple of mama sea turtles visited our beach during the night to lay their eggs. There were a total of five nests just on our stretch of the beach. This trip surpassed our expectations! We can't wait until our next trip to Hunting Island.
