I cannot believe that my baby is 5 months old! Time has flown by. She is now sitting up on her own and babbling. Her favorite thing to say is "da da da". After five months of getting up every night to nurse, this is the thank you that I get? Hmmm is that fair? Oh well, she's still my sweet pea. This past weekend, she teased me by sleeping through the night 7:30 pm to 6 am two nights in a row. Unfortunately, she was up again at 2 am Sunday night and last night. I can't complain too much because she usually nurses and is back asleep in 20 minutes. She is still not quite ready for baby food. We've tried for the last month and she gags on the spoon and looks utterly repulsed by the whole thing. We tried one of the baby food "nets" that she can suck/gnaw and that worked a little better. Might have something to do with the sweet potato casserole with brown sugar that I stuffed it with =) Caroline was so ready to eat at four months and Amelia is taking her time. It's kind of nice to not have to fool with food at school yet. I'm going to try to enjoy another month of her only needing me. She's definitely easy to pack for!

Lake Rabun
Labor Day Weekend
The Martin family let us use their lake house for Labor Day weekend and we had a blast! It took us a while to get there because of traffic and two stops, but Caroline thought the whole experience was an adventure. It was a nice change from whining/crying. Amelia slept the entire trip. She's such a sweet pea. The weather was actually crisp in the mornings and not too hot in the afternoon. We swam, sailed and jumped on the trampoline. Nana and Pa stayed with us Saturday night and G-Dad came in for a visit Sunday. The girls can't wait to take another trip to the lake!

More Summer Pictures
We now own two digital cameras and two video cameras....so, it's hard to keep up with all of our pictures! This weekend, I discovered these pictures from July. We drove over to Houston for a baby shower and Aunt Allison just happened to be there too visiting friends. Nana and Pa drove down to babysit so we were able to have a mini family reunion!

Time to catch up!!
Wow! It has been a while!! Amelia has grown up so much in the last month. She's now enjoying her bumbo chair and she loves to play with her toys and roll around on the floor. Life is so much more fun when you can play! Both of the girls really enjoyed the beach. Amelia slept under the umbrella and Caroline built sand castles and made friends in the surf. They're beach bunnies like their momma. We had a GREAT summer and so far, school has been an easy transition. Caroline and Amelia love their teachers and I have a wonderful class this year. I can't believe we're flying back to Georgia for Lindsey and Paul's wedding in just two weeks! Here are a few pictures and videos from our trip to Georgia and our beach trip to South Padre. I am so happy that I captured Nana's famous German nursery rhyme. All nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren share this memory.

Amelia 9 Weeks and 3 Days
On Monday, July 19th Amelia had her early 8 week doctor's appointment. I was very interested to see how much she had grown and to see if she was another "off the charts" girl. She weighed 13.6 pounds and was 23 1/4 inches long. She's in the 75-90%. A little smaller than her big sister, but not much! She has an amazingly strong neck and she is still practing crawling all the time. Amelia loves the sling and is really enjoying her vibrating chair these days. Her legs are so strong that I believe she'll be bouncing in her Johnny Jump Up before we know it. I think that she might be another talker like Caroline. She's already trying to make conversation with everyone. Here are a few pictures from our flight to Georgia and from the first couple days here. She slept and nursed in her sling the entire flight. People didn't even know she was there! Thank goodness for www.360bebe.com I couldn't live without it!!
